The Final Countdown

The second half has been a charitable one for the Y’alls winning their first four series after the All-Star Break. Florence’s scoring differential has shown up in a big way outscoring opponents 91-70, averaging 6.5 runs per game to the opposition’s 5. Florence also holds the hits advantage in the second half of the season by a 146-130 margin; Flo batters average 10.43 knocks per game while the bad guys even out to around one fewer at 9.29. Y’alls flex catcher and first baseman Zade Richardson opened up the latter half of the campaign by becoming the first person this year to win Frontier League Player of the Week twice after earning that honor in the first week of the season. The Cincy area-native went 5-for-8 in that stretch with five RBIs. Third baseman Brian Fuentes has had plenty of fun as well with the team’s only walkoff of the second half, doubling home the tying and game-winning runs after being taken to death’s door, down to the final strike against the Sussex County Miners on Saturday, Jul. 27. The Venezuela-native is 23-for-57 (.404) since the All-Star Break with 19 RBIs and 10 extra-base hits including a trio of home runs.
